Dear Friends,

I want to take this opportunity to welcome you in advance to the Institute for Law Teaching and Learning's 2011 Summer Conference "Engaging and Assessing Our Students" and to provide some information that might be helpful as you make final preparation for your travels.

Conference Check-in

You can pick up your conference program and materials on Wednesday evening, June 1, between 5:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., or on the morning of Thursday, June 2, between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

Overview of the Conference

Starting and finishing all sessions on time is a core ethic of the Institute. Please use your time accordingly. We believe that the extensive list of presentations and topics may make it challenging for you to decide which of many exciting workshops to attend. You may want to take a final look at the conference program in order to finalize your own conference plans before you join us.

New York Law School and event sponsors will be providing breakfast and lunch on both Thursday and Friday, as well as appetizers on Wednesday evening and dinner on Thursday. Your conference materials will also include information about local restaurant options.

Weather

New York City can be muggy in June, but temperatures tend to be rather mild — usually ranging from the high 60's to the low 80's.

Conference Attire

New York is a walking city, so it will be very helpful to wear comfortable shoes. Otherwise, please dress as you like for the conference, which is generally quite casual.

Other questions

Please contact me if there's anything I can do to make your conference experience more enjoyable. I'll look forward to seeing you all soon.

- Kris
